Tao, Daqueen.-Born in Siang-Yang, Hupeh, 1882. Married. Studied at Liang-Hu College. Wuchang, 1889-1902. Graduated, 1902. Arrived in American, July, 1903. Government support. Studied Liberal Arts at Wyoming Seminary, 1903-5; at Denison University, 1905-6; Political Science at Ohio State University, 1906-10. B.A., 1910. Returned to China, September, 1910. Councillor to Viceroy at Wuchang and Dean of Hankow Commercial College, 1910. Adviser to General Li Yuan-Hung, Com-missioner of Finance for Hupeh, and Director of Hupeh Mint, 1911. Finance Inspector to Hupeh and Councillor in the Ministry of Finance, 1912. Member of Currency Reform Commission, member of Commission for Rectification of Indemnity Claims against China, and Director of Wuchang Mini, 1913. Assistant Director of Stamp Tax, Chief Cashier for the Redemption of Notes in Kwangtung, and Co-Director of the Bureau of Currency and Banking, 1914. Member, Bureau of Currency Reform Commission, 1915. Examiner of High Civil Service Examinations and member of National Financial Con-vention, 1916. Fourth and Third Class Chia Ho Decorations.
