Koo, V. Tsing.-Born in Wusih, Kiangsu, 1887. Married, 1906. Studied at Nanyang Middle School, Shanghai, 1901-2; at St. John's University, Shanghai, 1901-5; at Nanyang College, Shanghai, 1908-11. Teacher in English and Arithmetic at several schools in Shanghai, 1906-8. Arrived in America, September, 1911. Government support. Studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois, 1911-14; at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University, 1914-16. B.S., Illinois, 1914; S.M., M.I.T. and Harvard, 1916. Associate Member, American Institute of Radio Engineers, 1916. Treasurer: Chinese Students' Mid-West Conference, 1913; Chinese Students' Alliance, Mid-West Section, 1913-14. President, Nanyang Club, 1915-16. Spoke on "Development of Modern Science in the Period 1800-1850" before M.I.T. Graduates and Faculty, 1915-16. Tester, Kellogg Switch-Board and Supply Co., 1914. Perfected a Hydraulic Microphone, 1916. Returned to China, July, 1916. Instructor, Waterways Engineering College, Nanking, 1916 to date. Editor, Chung Hua Industrial World and Science, 1916.
